Group
1-to-1
1-to-1
Option 1
Session 1 – Coach gives out book, introduces course, and coaches student through Step 1.
Coach then encourages student to work through next Step (Story and Studies) themselves and set realistic date for next session. At next session, review step and together work through Group Discussion Questions.
Option 2
Coach takes student through full content. Encourage student to try to go through a Study themselves before meeting.
Group
Option 1 – recommended
Session 1 – Coach gives out books, introduces course, and coaches students through Step 1. At end of Session 1, coach sets self-study (homework) of next Step Story and for them to work through Study 1 themselves or in a pair during week.
Session 2 – coach briefly reviews Study 1 (ensure key outcome understood and applied). Then coach through Study 2. Set self-study of Study 3.
Session 3 – again briefly review Study 3. Coach through Group Discussion Questions. Set self-study of next Step Story and Study 1.
And so goes on. 23 sessions in all.
Option 2 – maybe suitable in some settings (University/Prison)
It is possible to complete course over 12 sessions with students by doing 3 self-studies per week. Sessions would comprise of the brief reviews of studies and going through Group Discussions Question together. Many may find this approach too intense and may not apply the material to grow healthily as a disciple.
