Jonathan Mackwell is the author of The Discipleship Way Course, a 12-step, Bible-based and Spirit-empowered discipleship course designed to help people grow as followers of Jesus. The course is particularly suited to new Christians, post-Alpha groups, small groups and one-to-one discipleship.
Jonathan is a church leader and the Senior Leader of Waypoint Church in Berwick-upon-Tweed, UK. His passion is to help people move beyond simply believing in Jesus to becoming lifelong disciples who know God, live in His presence and make disciples of others.
Background
Jonathan has a heart for discipling and teaching people. Jonathan previously worked as a Housing Officer and has also worked in initial church planting and development in rural Africa. He also studied a BA (Hons) in Theology and trained in pastoral ministry.
Vision
During the early days of Waypoint Church, Jonathan struggled to find an accessible modern Discipleship Courses as a follow on to Alpha. Having a heart for the course to be both Bible based yet Spirit centred, Jonathan started to write his own material which after multiple editions became the Discipleship Way Course.
