I’ve spoken to many people in the past who find it easy to relate to Jesus – friend, moral example, saviour even Lord
And to the Holy Spirit – as the Spirit of Jesus living with us now, as the one who guides us and gives us gifts to equip us to carry out the ministry fo Jesus.
But relating to God as Father has been a bit of a stumbling block and people have pulled away.
Yet both the Spirit and the Son’s purpose is to bring honour to the Father, Jesus says he only does what he sees the Father doing (John 5:19) and Jesus even goes onto say that if we have seen him we have seen the Father (John 14:9).
So why this difficulty of relating to God as Father?
Today we explore different types of earthly Father we may have had and how this may affect how we relate to our heavenly Father. But is this the reality of who our heavenly Father is?
During the talk we saw a clip from youtube which is as if Father God was writing a letter to us explaining who He really is (based on passages from the bible).
‘The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”’ (Romans 8:15)
